WINNER

Yesterday was my first bmx race EVER! The boys and I have slowly been getting in to the sport, but I have put off entering a race cause let's face it, I'm 35. I should know better than to be running around the track on a 20" bike. But, man it's fun.
So the race goes like this. There are two qualifying "motos" and then a "main". The first moto I placed 3rd. The second moto I placed 2nd, and the main? Woo Hooo! first place. I got a trophy and everything! Winning does feel great! I must admit however that it was in all actuality, more luck than skill. Any of the geezers I raced with could beat me. One guy slipped his foot off the pedal in turn two, one guy had surgery on his ACL recently enough that he is still wearing a big brace on his knee, and the other guy didn't race in the main. Oh well, not much to brag about, but non the less winning still feels good! Maybe I should retire now while I'm on top.

Congrats Brad! I take great comfort in the many famous people who did wonderful things in their later years - you have done so much already - I know I can't imagine what all is yet in store for you. I'm just still thankful for those guardian angels!
Love, Mom

congratulations from me too. I'm sure you won because I wasn't there to see it. :)
